- Applicants must fill out the prescribed API Score Form and upload it, after reading the API Score Criteria.
How to apply
Applications must be submitted online only, by registering on the University's ERP Portal at https://erphpnlu.in. No offline application will be accepted. After submitting the online application, candidates must download the application form from the ERP portal and attach all supporting documents and certificates for the specific API points claimed in the API Score Form.
The hard copy of the downloaded application form, together with all other documents, must reach the Office of the Registrar, Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla, 16 Mile, Shimla-Mandi National Highway, Village Ghandal, Post Shakarah, Sub-Tehsil Dhami, District Shimla - 171014 (Himachal Pradesh) on or before 28.11.2026, 05:00 PM.
Copies of supporting documents, including the cover page of publications, copyright, ISSN/ISBN number and authorial page of all publications claimed by the applicant, must be submitted in hard copy along with the hard copy of the application form.
Application fee – Rs.3,000, payable online through the payment gateway on the ERP Portal. No other mode of payment is acceptable. The fee is non-refundable, and applications without the requisite fee shall be rejected.
Other conditions
- An applicant must not be engaged or appointed elsewhere on a salary or honorarium payment basis; must not have been involved in any criminal case, pending or convicted; and must not be facing any disciplinary proceeding before the Bar Council of India, a State Bar Council, or any other authority.
- Possession of the prescribed minimum qualifications does not entitle a candidate to be called for the test/interview. Where the number of applications is large, the University may restrict the number of candidates to a reasonable limit on the basis of higher qualifications or experience, and only shortlisted candidates will be invited.
- Interview dates will be notified on the University website and communicated by e-mail to shortlisted applicants. No TA/DA is admissible.
- Applicants serving in Government, Public Sector Undertakings, Universities, Boards or Autonomous Bodies must submit a No Objection Certificate from the employer at the time of the test/interview, if not uploaded earlier.
- The posts advertised are tentative; the University may increase or decrease the number of posts or decide not to fill the vacancy.
- Applicants who had already applied for the post of Professor (Regular Basis) vide Advertisement No. HPNLU-A(7)-11(Advt.)/2022-40 dated 30.01.2026 are not required to apply again, but may update their application through the ERP Portal using their User ID and Password.
- All appointments are provisional, subject to verification of documents and antecedents.
