The High Court of Sikkim, Gangtok invites applications for 6 posts on purely contractual basis under the e-Courts Project Phase-III, for a period of one year. Employment Notice No. 31/COMP/HCS, dated 16.10.2026.

Age limit
Not less than 18 years as on 01.01.2026, and not more than 30 years on the last date for submission of the application form. The upper age limit is uniform for all communities; relaxation is as prescribed by the State Government from time to time.
How to apply
Applications must be made in the prescribed form attached to the Employment Notice, which is available on the High Court of Sikkim website, hcs.gov.in. The form must be filled in the applicant's own handwriting in English, with a passport-size photograph affixed on the form and on the admit card.
Applications sent by speed post must reach the office of the Central Project Coordinator on or before 20.11.2026. Applications may also be submitted in person at that office during office hours, latest by 20.11.2026 before 4:30 PM. Applications received after the prescribed date and time will not be entertained on any ground.
Incomplete applications, or those without the requisite testimonials and other documents, will be summarily rejected. Candidates already in Government service must apply through the proper channel.
Proof of citizenship
Any one of the following must be submitted – Birth Certificate; Passport; Certificate of Identification (in the case of Sikkim subjects); or a valid Voters' Identity Card issued by the Election Commission of India.
Selection process
- Only candidates found eligible on preliminary scrutiny are called for the Written Examination. The list of accepted candidates is published on the High Court website and in local dailies.
- The examination consists of a Written Examination, a Practical Test and an Interview/viva-voce, in that order.
- Candidates securing 40% or more in the Written Examination become eligible for the Practical Test; those securing 40% or more in the Practical Test become eligible for the Interview.
- Final selection is on the combined marks of the Written Examination, Practical Test and Interview. The merit list is published on the High Court website and affixed on the High Court notice boards.
- Where candidates tie on total marks, the candidate with more marks in the Main Paper is preferred; if those are also equal, the older candidate is preferred.
Other conditions
- Admit cards are intimated through local dailies and the High Court website. No duplicate admit card is issued for loss unless the candidate shows the loss was due to reasons beyond his or her control.
- No separate call letters are issued to candidates eligible for the interview/viva-voce.
- No T.A./D.A. is paid for appearing in the interview or viva-voce.
- Candidates must furnish correct mobile/telephone numbers and an e-mail address with the application, for communication by the Registry.
- The Registry of the High Court of Sikkim reserves the right to accept or reject any application without assigning any reason. All matters not specifically provided in the advertisement are decided by the High Court.
