Gujarat Secondary Service Selection Board (GSSSB), Gandhinagar has invited online applications for recruitment to the post of Horticulture Assistant (Baghayat Madadnish), Class-3 in the Horticulture Director Office under the Agriculture, Farmers Welfare & Cooperation Department, Government of Gujarat, vide Advertisement No. 454/202627.

Total 100 vacancies will be filled through direct recruitment by competitive examination. Candidates must apply online through the OJAS website.

• Women reserved posts (out of category-wise posts): Total 13 (Unreserved 03, EWS 08, SEBC 02).
• PWD (Divyangjan) reserved: 04 posts (01 each in the four groups).
• Ex-Servicemen reserved: 10 posts.
• Reserved posts are only for candidates belonging to reserved categories of the original (main) Gujarat state. Vacancies may vary.

Educational Qualification

• A Diploma in Horticulture obtained from a Polytechnic of any Agriculture / Horticulture University incorporated or established by or under the Central / State Agriculture / Horticulture Universities Act in India.
• Basic knowledge of computer application as prescribed in the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967.
• Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.

GSSSB, Gandhinagar Age Limit (as on 17.08.2026)

Candidates should be not less than 18 years and not more than 33 years of age as on 17.08.2026. Upper age limit may be relaxed for candidates already in Gujarat Government service as per rules.

GSSSB, Gandhinagar Salary / Pay Scale 2026

Initial appointment on Fixed Pay of Rs.26,000/- per month for the first five years. Thereafter, on satisfactory service, regular appointment in the Level-4 pay scale (Rs.20,200 – Rs.52,200) of the 7th Pay Commission (subject to SLP Nos. 14124/2012 and 14125/2012 pending before the Hon'ble Supreme Court).

GSSSB, Gandhinagar Application Fee 2026 (Preliminary Examination)

The exam fee is refundable to candidates who appear in the examination. Fee must be paid online (Debit Card / Internet Banking / UPI / Wallet) through OJAS by 20.08.2026 (23:59 hrs).

GSSSB, Gandhinagar Selection Process 2026

Selection will be through a single-stage competitive CBRT/OMR (MCQ) examination conducted by GSSSB with negative marking:

• Total 210 questions carrying 210 marks; duration 3 hours (180 minutes).
• Negative marking: 1/4th of the marks allotted to a question are deducted for each wrong answer.
• Paper level shall be equivalent to the prescribed educational qualification.
