- Matriculation (10th standard pass) with NAC / NTC (ITI) in the relevant trade - Carpenter/Wood Work Technician/Shipwright (Wood); Electrician; Diesel Mechanic/Mechanic Diesel; Fitter/Weapon Fitter/MMTM; Electronic Mechanic; Painter; Pipe Fitter/Plumbing; Rigger; Structural Fitter/Fabricator/Sheet Metal; Welder (all welder trades); FRP Processor/Plastic Processing Operator or NSQF Plastic FRP Operator; Millwright Mechanic/MMTM
- Crane Operator and Driver Material Handling: ITI in the specified trade; Government-recognised crane operation certification desirable; Driver Material Handling also needs a valid heavy vehicle driving licence
- Driver (Vehicle): Matriculation with valid commercial LMV driving licence and minimum 6 years post-qualification experience of driving light and heavy motor vehicles on direct employment basis; clean driving record with no accident history or major violations in the last 6 years; valid HMV licence desirable
- Age maximum 26 years as on 01.10.2026 (relaxations as per Government of India rules); ex-Agniveers releasing by 31.03.2027 are eligible
- Higher professional qualifications (B.E./B.Tech, MBA, CA, CMA, CS, LL.B, MCA, Ph.D) disqualify a candidate

- Journeyman: 2 years training on fixed stipend of Rs.24,000 per month in the first year and Rs.26,000 in the second year, followed by absorption in the skilled (SSK) grade of Rs.19,900 - 3% - 69,650 subject to satisfactory performance
- Reservation: UR 23, SC 12, ST 3, OBC 10, EWS 7 in the journeyman posts; PwBD - 1 OH, 1 HH/PD and 2 VH/LV (backlog); Driver (Vehicle) - UR 2 and OBC 1
- Age maximum 26 years as on 01.10.2026 with relaxations for OBC, SC/ST, PwBD, ex-servicemen and ex-Agniveers; internal candidates up to 56 years
- Selection: written test followed by practical (trade) test; physical efficiency test for Rigger, Crane Operator and Driver posts is qualifying in nature
