Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana, Punjab has released Advertisement No. 04/2026 for recruitment to 8 faculty and senior positions — Registrar, Director of Research, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor and Scientist — across the University campus at Ludhiana and the College of Veterinary Science, Rampura Phul, Bathinda. Vacancy Details – Advt. No. 04/2026

All 8 posts require passing the Matriculation examination in Punjabi Language from the Punjab School Education Board (or equivalent recognized board) before the last date of application.

Eligibility Criteria – Post-Wise

Sr. 1 & 2 – Registrar / Director of Research

• Ph.D. in any branch of Veterinary Science / Animal Science / Fisheries.
• 12 years' experience in teaching / research / extension, including 5 years as Professor or equivalent.
• Administrative experience in responsible posts, with demonstrated ability to organize, supervise and make substantial contributions to teaching / research / scholarship.
• Director of Research: Only existing GADVASU faculty eligible.

Sr. 3 – Assistant Professor (Aquatic Environment Management)

• B.F.Sc. with min. OCPA 5.50/10.00 (55% marks).
• M.F.Sc. in Aquatic Environment Management with min. OCPA 6.50/10.00 (65%) marks.
• NET compulsory for Master's degree holders; NET waiver for Ph.D. holders meeting UGC 2009 conditions (course work + publication in NAAS-rated refereed journal).
• Candidates with relevant Ph.D. (without required Master's) eligible if min. OCPA 6.50/10.00 (65%) at Master's level in allied field.

Sr. 4 – Scientist (Dairy Technology)

• B.Tech (Dairy Technology / Food Technology) or B.Sc. (Agri.) with at least second division.
• M.Tech in Dairy Technology with min. OCPA 6.50/10.00 (65%) marks.
• NET compulsory for Master's degree holders; NET waiver for Ph.D. holders per notification conditions.

Sr. 5 – Associate Professor (Veterinary Surgery & Radiology)

• Ph.D. in Veterinary Surgery / Veterinary Surgery & Radiology.
• Master's degree in relevant discipline with min. OCPA 6.50/10.00 (65%).
• B.V.Sc. & A.H. / B.V.Sc. with at least second division.
• 8 years' teaching / research / extension experience in Surgery & Radiology at Assistant Professor level or equivalent (Ph.D. period not counted).
• Min. 5 research / policy publications in indexed / ISBN / ISSN journals or books.

Sr. 6 – Associate Professor (Veterinary Gynaecology & Obstetrics)

• Ph.D. in Animal Reproduction, Gynaecology & Obstetrics / Veterinary Gynaecology & Obstetrics / Animal Gynaecology / Animal Reproduction.
• Master's degree in relevant discipline with min. OCPA 6.50/10.00 (65%).
• B.V.Sc. & A.H. / B.V.Sc. with at least second division.
• 8 years' relevant experience at Assistant Professor level or equivalent (Ph.D. period not counted).
• Min. 5 publications in indexed / ISBN / ISSN journals or books.

Sr. 7 – Associate Professor (Veterinary Medicine)

• Ph.D. in Veterinary Medicine / Clinical Veterinary Medicine / Clinical Veterinary Medicine, Ethics & Jurisprudence.
• Master's degree in relevant discipline with min. OCPA 6.50/10.00 (65%).
• B.V.Sc. & A.H. / B.V.Sc. with at least second division.
• 8 years' relevant experience at Assistant Professor level or equivalent (Ph.D. period not counted).
• Min. 5 publications in indexed / ISBN / ISSN journals or books.

Sr. 8 – Assistant Professor (Veterinary Medicine)

• B.V.Sc. & A.H. / B.V.Sc. with at least second division from a VCI-recognized institute.
• M.V.Sc. in Veterinary Medicine / Clinical Veterinary Medicine / Clinical Veterinary Medicine Ethics & Jurisprudence with min. OCPA 6.50/10.00 (65%).
• NET compulsory for Master's degree holders; NET waiver for Ph.D. holders per notification conditions.

Age Limit

Minimum 18 years; retirement age 60 years for the University. No separate post-wise upper age limit specified in the notification. Candidates should ensure they meet the prescribed age criteria as on the last date of application.

Application Fee (Inclusive of GST)

• Fee payable online only; link active from 16 September 2026.
• Downloaded payment receipt must be attached with the application form.
• Fee is non-refundable.
• 50% fee exemption for Persons with Disabilities (PwD).

Salary / Pay Scale

Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA) is admissible as per University rules. Pay scales and service conditions follow applicable Punjab Government notifications.

Selection Process

• The University prepares a merit score card for each post based on qualifications, higher qualifications and experience.
• The top 10 eligible candidates per post (by merit) are called for interview; for Assistant Professor-level posts, a presentation is also required.
• Candidates must score at least 50% marks in the interview to be eligible for selection.
• No T.A. / D.A. is paid for attending the interview or examination.

How to Apply – GADVASU Advt. 04/2026

1. Download the prescribed application form from www.gadvasu.in.
2. Fill in all personal, educational and other required details correctly, including mobile number and email ID.
3. Pay the application fee online once the payment link is active (from 16 September 2026) and download the payment receipt.
4. Attach self-attested copies of all qualification, experience and (where applicable) Physically Handicapped certificates, along with the fee receipt.
5. Attach a self-addressed envelope (9" x 4") with the application.
6. Candidates applying for more than one post must submit a separate application form with the requisite fee for each post.
7. Ensure the complete application is page-numbered, properly tagged and indexed.
8. Send the completed application so that it reaches the University by the last date, 08 October 2026, up to 4:00 PM.
9. In-service candidates must apply through proper channel; the advance copy must reach by 08.10.2026, and the proper-channel copy must reach the Registrar's office by 21.10.2026, up to 4:00 PM.
