ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Bihta, Patna-801103 (Bihar) - under the Employees' State Insurance Corporation, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India - will hold a walk-in interview on 27 October 2026 to fill 30 Senior Resident and Super Specialist Senior Resident posts on a one-year contract that can be renewed, under Advertisement No. 14 of 2026 (No. 423-A/12/28/2026-SR).

Reporting time is 09:00 AM to 11:00 AM, and no application form is accepted after 11:00 AM. Vacancies (30 posts across 21 departments)

Notes on the vacancy list: The notified vacancies include backlog vacancies. Vacancies in the super specialty departments depend on the availability of teaching faculty in that department. The number of seats may increase or decrease at the time of interview. Unfilled EWS seats are not carried forward, as EWS posts are not treated as backlog vacancies.

Eligibility

Candidates who do not hold updated medical registration must show proof of having applied for it to the council. Where neither condition is met, the candidate may not be interviewed, or the result may be kept withheld if the expert committee allows them to appear.

Age limit

The age limit is as per NMC norms, reckoned as on the date of interview (27.10.2026). The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates. Reservation for PwBD candidates is maintained as per Government of India rules.

Pay and allowances

A fixed basic pay of Rs. 67,700 per month, plus NPA, TPTA, DA and other admissible allowances. The engagement is purely contractual and does not carry PF, pension, gratuity, medical allowance or other benefits admissible to regular ESIC employees.

Tenure and terms of contract

• The tenure is one year from the date of joining, with a provision for renewal subject to willingness, satisfactory performance and the institute's requirement on the same terms.
• The contract is terminable from either side with one month's prior notice, without assigning reasons. If a selected candidate resigns on the spot, one month's salary must be deposited to the ESIC account through a challan.
• A security deposit of Rs. 20,000 must be paid at the time of reporting for joining, by Demand Draft in favour of ESI Fund Account No. 2, payable at State Bank of India, Bihta, Patna-801103. Joining is not allowed without it, and the deposit is forfeited if the candidate resigns or leaves within one year.
• Senior Residents in General Medicine are posted to Medical ICU, Respiratory ICU, Dialysis Unit and Casualty on a rotational basis. Those in General Surgery are posted to the Trauma Care Ward and Surgical ICU on rotation. Senior Residents in Orthopaedics, General Surgery and General Medicine must also perform compulsory on-site casualty duty as scheduled by the hospital administration.
• Absence beyond 7 consecutive days is treated as abandonment of duty, and the contract is terminated with forfeiture of the security deposit.
• Attendance must be marked manually as well as on the Aadhaar Enabled Bio-metric Attendance System (AEBAS) each working day.
• Accommodation for Senior Residents is available on campus, and exchange of HRA for accommodation is not permitted while accommodation is available.
• No private practice is allowed in any capacity after joining. No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.

Application fee

Payment is by Demand Draft in favour of ESIC HOSPITAL BIHTA SB ACC- 2, payable at Bihta, Patna (SBI Branch Code 01217). The fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.

Documents to carry

1. Admit card or Class 10 certificate as proof of date of birth
2. All mark sheets, attempt certificates and degree certificates of MBBS
3. Mark sheets, attempt certificates and degree certificates of MD / MS / DNB or other higher qualification
4. EWS / OBC / SC / ST certificate, where applicable (OBC Non-Creamy Layer certificate must be issued within one year of the interview, by an officer not below Sub-Divisional Officer rank, in the Government of India format; EWS certificate as per DoPT OM No. 36039/1/2019-Estt (Res) dated 31.01.2019)
5. Updated NMC / State Medical Council registration certificate
6. Copies of publications, training, and attendance at conferences, workshops or seminars, if any
7. Any two of Aadhaar card, voter card or PAN card
8. No Objection Certificate from the current employer, if applicable
9. Relieving certificate from the previous employer, if applicable
10. Experience certificate, if applicable

Copies of all documents must be attached to the application form and will be verified against the originals before the interview. Candidates with incomplete or inadequate documents may not be interviewed. No candidate is allowed to appear without verification of original documents.

Selection procedure

Selection is based on the candidate's credentials and performance in the walk-in interview before the Selection Board. There is no written test. The result is displayed on www.mcpatna.esic.gov.in and www.esic.gov.in under the Recruitment section, and the offer of appointment is sent by email. Selected candidates must join as per the instructions in the offer.

• Mere submission of the application does not confer eligibility; candidates must report at the scheduled date and time with the required documents.
• The interview opportunity is provisional and subject to detailed scrutiny of eligibility criteria.
• Candidates working in Government, autonomous or statutory institutions must submit a No Objection Certificate from their current employer at the interview. If it is not immediately available, proof of having applied for it must be submitted; a relieving letter is required before joining.
