Education Recruitment Directorate (ERD), Punjab, under the Directorate of School Education, has released notification for Lecturer (Cadre) Recruitment 2026 for Government Senior Secondary Schools across Punjab. A total of 1,013 vacancies are announced — comprising 829 fresh posts and 184 backlog posts — spread across 12 subjects. Selected candidates will be appointed as Group B Gazetted Officers.

Salary: As per 7th Pay Commission Pay Matrix for Group B Gazetted Officer. Approximate starting salary of Rs.34,500+ per month plus allowances as per Punjab government rules.
Essential Qualification:
- Master's Degree in the relevant subject from a recognised university with minimum 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates)
- B.Ed degree from a recognised university
- Punjabi up to Matriculation level (10th standard)
- Preference given to UGC NET/SET or PhD holders (additional weightage in merit)
Age Limit (as on 01 January 2026):
- Minimum: 18 years
- Maximum: 37 years
- Age relaxation as per Punjab Government rules for reserved categories

- SC / BC (all sub-categories of Punjab): Rs.1,000

Selection Process:
Stage 1 – Written Examination: 300 marks, 5 hours duration. Subjects: Punjabi, English, Teaching Aptitude, Mathematics, General Knowledge, and Concerned Subject. No negative marking.
Stage 2 – Document Verification: Candidates qualifying the written exam will be called for verification of original documents and certificates.
