- Fleet personnel must hold the prescribed Certificate of Competency / Certificate of Proficiency / naval rank and experience shown against each rank
- TME: four-year degree in Marine Engineering from an IMU-affiliated college approved by DG Shipping, or institutes recognised by State/Central Government or AICTE, or Graduate Marine Engineering after a four-year Engineering degree
- TELO: four-year degree in Electrical/Electronics/Electrical & Electronics/Electronics & Telecommunication/Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering recognised by State/Central Government or AICTE, plus four months Electro Technical Officer course from a DG Shipping approved institute
- NCV (T): SSC/10th pass, Pre-sea GP rating course and pass in the DG Shipping approved Exit Examination with minimum 60% aggregate marks
- Trainee age: less than 25 years as on the date of joining on board
- Candidates who have already acquired COC as MEO Class IV, or who are about to obtain it, are not eligible for TME

Dredging Corporation of India Limited (DCI) is looking for dynamic fleet personnel and trainees for the following positions on a contract basis, vide Advertisement No. 04/2026 (walk-in interview).
- Fleet personnel: Dredge Master, Chief Officer, 2nd Officer, 3rd Officer, Chief Engineer Officer, 2nd Engineer Officer, 4th Engineer Officer and Petty Officer (Dredging) — number of posts not specified in the advertisement
- Trainees: Trainee Marine Engineer — 14 posts (UR 5, OBC 3, SC 2, ST 3, EWS 1); Trainee Electrical Officer — 10 posts (OBC 2, SC 4, ST 2, EWS 2); NCV (T) — 04 posts (UR 1, SC 1, ST 1, EWS 1)
- Stipend: TME and TELO — ₹25,000 per month plus victualling allowance ₹600 per day; NCV (T) — ₹10,000 per month plus victualling allowance ₹405 per day
- Training period: 18 months for NCV (T), 6 months for Trainee Marine Engineers and 8 months for Trainee Electrical Officers; may be extended/curtailed as per Corporation/DG Shipping requirements
- Age: less than 25 years as on the date of joining on board, for all trainee posts; no age limit is prescribed for fleet personnel
- Bank guarantee: selected TME and TELO candidates must execute a bank guarantee of ₹3 lakh or deposit the same amount with DCI to serve the Corporation for five years after completion of training and obtaining CoC (TME) or posting as ELO (TELO)
Selection: Fleet personnel are selected on interview performance (minimum qualifying score 50 out of 100). For TME/TELO, 80% weightage is given to marks in the prescribed qualification and 20% to the interview, with minimum cut-off marks of 50% each for General/OBC and 45% each for SC/ST. Selection for NCV (T) is based 50% on SSC/10th marks and 50% on the GP Rating exit examination.
