DRDO RCI Research Associate (RA) & Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Recruitment 2026
Research Centre Imarat (RCI), Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Missile Complex, Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO), Ministry of Defence, Government of India invites offline applications from young, meritorious and motivated Indian nationals having inclination towards research in cutting edge technology for defence applications. Applications are invited for a total of 21 positions (02 Research Associate + 19 Junior Research Fellow) under Advertisement No. RFS/HRD/RCI/2026.

Eligibility Criteria
Research Associate (RA)
- RA-01 (CSE/Mech/EEE/ECE): Ph.D in Computer Science / Data Science / AI (Deep Learning / ML); OR Ph.D in Mechanical / Structural / Aerospace Engg (design, fabrication, FEA); OR Ph.D in EEE (Power Electronics); OR Ph.D in ECE (RF & Microwave / Radar Engg). Alternatively: First Class M.Tech in relevant discipline with 3 years research experience and at least 01 SCI journal paper.
- RA-02 (Physics): Ph.D in Physics; OR First Class M.Sc in Physics with 4 years research experience in Experimental Quantum Optics / Laser Physics / Electro-optics and at least 01 SCI journal paper.
Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
- First Class B.E./B.Tech (or equivalent as per AICTE) in EEE / Aerospace / Aeronautical / Electrical / ECE / CSE / IT / Chemical / Mechanical / Metallurgy Engineering with valid GATE Score; OR
- First Class B.E./B.Tech in relevant discipline with ME/M.Tech in the relevant field; OR
- First Class M.Sc in Chemistry / Physics with valid NET / GATE / SLET.
Candidates who have attained the essential qualifications and awarded degree before the date of advertisement are only eligible to apply.

Stipend / Fellowship
Monthly stipend will be paid as per Government of India norms (Ministry of Defence (Fin/R&D) letter No. 01/RD/HRD/89-90/751/D(R&D) dated 08 August 2023).
- RA: Awarded for a period of 02 (two) years only.
- JRF: Initially 02 years, may be upgraded to Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) for 01 year (3rd year) and further extended for 01 more year (4th year) based on performance.
Selection Process
- RA: After scrutiny of applications based on relevance of research work experience / Ph.D thesis, shortlisted candidates will be called for interview.
- JRF: After scrutiny based on percentage, shortlisted candidates will be called for written test / interview or both.
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending the test / document verification / interview / joining.
