DME Tripura Professor and Associate Professor Job Details & Overview
Directorate of Medical Education, Government of Tripura invites applications for a walk-in interview for engagement of Professors and Associate Professors in different disciplines and departments on a contractual basis for a period of 11 months, from eligible candidates of Indian nationality who are state domicile of Tripura, for Agartala Government Dental College & I.G.M. Hospital, Agartala, under the Health & Family Welfare Department. Notification No. 3(4)-DME/ESTT/AGDC & IGMH/Post of Professor/2026 dated 23.10.2026.
5 posts are advertised – 2 Professor and 3 Associate Professor posts. The engagement is for 11 months and will be renewed further, subject to satisfactory performance.
The prerequisite of state domicile status shall be relaxed in case no suitable candidate of state domicile is available for the said post. PRTC is mandatory, but may be relaxed on the same basis.
Important dates

Age limit
- Professor – not more than 55 years on the date of application.
- Associate Professor – not more than 50 years on the date of application.
- The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for ST, SC, PH/PwD and Government in-service candidates.
Selection
- Selection will be done as per 50 per cent from Academic Performance Index (API) as calculated by the department plus 50 per cent from interview / personality test (total 100 marks).
- In case of non-availability of ST/SC candidates, a suitable candidate will be selected from UR candidates.
- The authority reserves the right for placement of all the above-mentioned faculty employed on contractual basis to any discipline at any time as per the need of the institution.
