Eligibility Criteria
- Any person interested in legal aid and legal awareness activities.
- Should be a resident of the district (Kanpur Dehat).
- Preferably 12th pass (Intermediate) or equivalent.
- Persons like retired government servants, teachers, social workers, members of local bodies, and educated youth with aptitude for social work are eligible.
Role & Responsibilities of Para Legal Volunteers
- Create awareness about legal aid services provided under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987.
- Identify and refer eligible persons to the Legal Services Authority for free legal aid.
- Assist in conducting Lok Adalats and legal awareness camps.
- Help in filling application forms for legal aid.
- Act as a bridge between the common people and the legal services institutions.
