Age limit

• Not less than 18 years as on the date of publication of the advertisement.
• Not more than 38 years for the general category.
• Not more than 43 years for candidates of backward classes.
• For physically handicapped candidates who are otherwise suitable, the upper age limit is 45 years, as per Government Decision No. SRVH-1077/3576/1433/16-A dated 23.05.1978.

Pay scale

As per the Seventh Pay Commission, Pay Level S-5 in the revised pay structure, Rs.18,000–56,900, plus allowances as per rules.

How to apply

• Applications must be sent by Speed Post in the prescribed form, with the superscription “Book Binder Post Application” on the envelope, addressed to the Manager, District and Sessions Court, Ahmednagar, Near Nyaynagar, Behind D.P. Office, D.P. Chowk, Ahmednagar - 414001, so as to reach on or before 04.11.2026 up to 6:00 PM.
• Applications received after 04.11.2026, or applications not received by post in the prescribed manner, or applications without the prescribed superscription on the envelope, will not be considered.
• The application form is available on the District Court, Ahmednagar website and at the authorised signatory's office.
• Attach self-attested copies of all certificates, the declaration/affidavit at Annexure-A and Annexure-B, and a recent passport-size colour photograph.
• Attach character certificates from two respectable persons, and a certificate showing that no criminal case is pending, or has been filed, or is proposed to be filed, against the candidate in any court.
• If the candidate is in previous Government service, written permission from the head of the concerned department/office must be obtained and produced at the time of application; the application must not be routed through the candidate's own department/office.
• Applications without the prescribed form, with incomplete information, or without the prescribed superscription will be rejected.
• Birth certificate or SSC/12th examination certificate must be attached for verification of age.

Selection process

• Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of the marks obtained in a book binding trade evaluation test of 20 marks, and shortlisted candidates will be called for an oral interview of 20 marks.
• The final selection will be made on the basis of the aggregate marks obtained in the evaluation test and the oral interview, in order of merit.
• Where a large number of applications are received, the Selection Committee may shortlist candidates in the ratio of 1:3 on the basis of the marks obtained in the evaluation test. If more candidates than one obtain the same marks as the last shortlisted candidate, all such candidates will be called for the interview.
• Candidates must bear their own expenses for document verification, the test and the interview.
• Candidates must personally check the notice board of the District Court from time to time. The hall ticket will be downloaded from the website and, after filling it in and affixing a recent passport-size photograph (the same as submitted with the application), the candidate must sign across it and submit it to the District Court on the date given, and obtain their admission letter. Without an admission letter, permission to appear in the evaluation test and interview will not be granted.
