- Citizen of India with a graduate degree (Science/Engineering) or Diploma (Engineering) from a recognised university
- The gap between the date of interview and the date of passing the qualifying degree examination should not be more than four years
- Age: minimum 18 years and maximum 27 years; upper age limit for reserved categories and persons with disability as per Government of India rules
- Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PwD/EWS applies as per the Apprentices Act 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules; unfilled reserved training places may be filled from other categories
- Candidates must carry the prescribed application form (given in the advertisement) with a set of photocopies and originals of 10th/12th certificates, qualifying degree certificate and marksheet, date of birth proof, caste certificate if applicable and two passport photographs
- Candidates must register on the NATS 2.0 portal (nats.education.gov.in) and have a bank account seeded with Aadhaar
- Training is governed by the Apprentices Act and creates no obligation of employment after completion
- Selected candidates are expected to join immediately on receipt of the offer
