Office of the Divisional Forest Officer, Malkangiri Forest Division, Odisha (E-mail: [email protected]) invites applications from eligible and interested candidates for engagement of one (01) Wildlife Veterinary Assistant for the Mobile Veterinary Unit on a purely contractual basis for Malkangiri Forest Division. Letter No. 5380/1F/ACC/SEC/2026 dated 14.10.2026.

Nature of engagement
- The post is purely contractual and does not confer any rights for regular appointments.
- Initial engagement shall be for a period of 06 (six) months, extendable subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funds.
- The engagement may be terminated at any time without assigning any reason, in case of unsatisfactory performance or administrative exigency.
- This is a resident post; the selected candidate must reside at Malkangiri and be active, energetic and willing to move in and around the forest area.
- The officer shall work under the administrative control of the DFO, Malkangiri Division and as per the exigencies of Koraput Circle.
Preference
Candidates possessing a Master’s degree and experience in wildlife management and treatment of any herbivores & carnivores etc. shall be given preference. Submission of a brief write-up on previous professional experience along with the application is required.
Area of operation
In view of increased morbidity and mortality of wild animals and rising human–wildlife conflict, the Mobile Veterinary Unit (MVU) shall conduct disease surveillance and wildlife healthcare services across Malkangiri Forest Division. The Wildlife Veterinary Assistant shall be the overall in-charge of the MVU for Malkangiri Forest Division. In case of emergency, services may be extended to adjacent forest divisions for optimal utilisation of departmental resources.

- Candidates shall be ranked strictly on the basis of marks obtained in the Written Examination (MCQs). Based on merit, only the top five (05) candidates shall be shortlisted and called for the Interview to be conducted on the same day in the afternoon.

- The written examination followed by the interview is scheduled to be held on 28.10.2026 from 10:00 A.M. onwards at the Conference Hall, Office of the Divisional Forest Officer, Malkangiri Forest Division.

Monitoring and supervision
- Regular concurrent monitoring and supervision will be done by the DFO-cum-Wildlife Warden with the assistance and active role of the ACF.
- A work-done certificate has to be submitted at the end of every month by the Veterinarian, which has to be verified by the ACF and passed by the DFO before processing the remuneration and associated bills of expenditure, if any.
