Support Person (POCSO) – District Child Protection Unit, Krishnagiri
Applications are invited from eligible individuals and eligible organisations engaged in child-protection work for selection as Support Persons for children affected in POCSO cases in Krishnagiri district — under the POCSO Act 2012, POCSO Rules 2020, and Tamil Nadu Social Welfare & Women Empowerment Department G.O. (Ms) No. 23 dated 12.08.2026. (Press release signed by C. Dinesh Kumar, I.A.S., District Collector, Krishnagiri.)
Role
- Support and guide affected children during investigation and court proceedings, keeping the child's best interests, safety and rights in view; coordinate with police, CWC, DCPU, hospital and court; help the child access medical, psychological support, education and rehabilitation services; keep the child and family informed of case progress.
Eligibility
- Postgraduate degree in social work, sociology, law, psychology, child development or other relevant child-welfare fields; OR graduates with minimum 3 years experience in child education, development, health or protection work.
- Minimum age 25 years for appointment as Support Person.
Tenure & Honorarium
- Tenure of 3 years.
- Honorarium up to Rs. 10,000/- per case (including travel), only for assigned cases; nothing payable for periods with no assigned cases.
