Educational qualification
- Bachelor's degree in any one of: Biological Sciences, Environmental Science, Ecology, Forestry, Wildlife Science, Public Policy, or a related / allied discipline.
- Candidates with M.A. English are also eligible to apply, subject to eligibility.
- Basic typing skill in Tamil and English is mandatory.
Experience and skills (preference)
- Preference to candidates with minimum 1 year of related work experience, especially 1 year in a government department / government office.
- Data Entry / Data Management experience.
- Government office file maintenance, record maintenance and documentation experience.
- Good skill in MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint; preparing government reports, letters, statistics and PowerPoint presentations.
- Data compilation, office correspondence work, communication and coordination skills.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinating District Climate Change Mission activities.
- Working in coordination with government departments and related institutions.
- Monitoring climate-change and environmental actions.
- Collecting and compiling climate and environmental data.
- Preparing reports, office letters, statistics and PowerPoint presentations.
- Maintaining government files and records.
- Coordinating meetings, trainings, seminars and awareness programmes.
- Undertaking field work and duty-related official travel.
- Documenting best practices relating to climate change.
- Any other work assigned by the District Climate Officer / Director.
