Reservation
Vertical reservation as notified – General 12, Scheduled Caste 4, Scheduled Tribe 4, Category-1 – 1, Category-2A – 2, Category-2B – 1 (total 24). Horizontal reservation applies additionally and is not part of these totals: women 5, rural candidates 3, and persons with benchmark disabilities (visually impaired) 2.
Only the reservation claimed in the application form is considered, and it cannot be changed afterwards. Caste certificates must be in the prescribed formats – Form-D for SC/ST, Form-I for Category-1 and Form-F for Category-2A/2B/3A/3B. Rural candidates must produce a certificate showing study from Class 1 to 10 in a rural area, and disabled candidates a UDID or District Medical Board certificate.

Applications must reach the office by 05.11.2026, 5:30 PM. The name of the post applied for must be written on the top of the cover. The notice and application details are available on hassan.nic.in and ayush.karnataka.gov.in.
A separate application must be submitted for each post – specialist doctor, Community Health Officer and paramedical posts each require their own application. Backlog posts also require separate applications; an application covering both a backlog and a regular post is rejected. Incomplete applications, or those not in the prescribed format, are rejected.
Selection
Selection is by merit, marked out of 100:
- Marks in the prescribed qualification / qualifying examination – maximum 70
- Experience in a Government or KPM-approved Ayush hospital or clinic – maximum 20 (1 mark per three months, capped at 20)
- Personal interview – maximum 10
Eligible candidates are shortlisted for interview in the ratio 1:5 where there are three or fewer vacancies, and 1:3 where there are more than three. A merit list is drawn up separately for each post category. The 70:20:10 weighting follows National Ayush Mission guidelines No. Ayush/07/IAC(3)/2015-16 dated 21.08.2019. Experience certificates must show the pay scale, and only certified experience in Government or KPM-approved Ayush institutions counts – teaching and administrative service is excluded.
Contract terms
- Appointment is purely temporary and contractual, up to the end of the financial year 31.03.2027, extendable by one year with a one-day break between financial years and subject to District Ayush Committee approval.
- Community Health Officers must remain in service until regular Ayush doctors are appointed or posted to the Ayushman Arogya Mandir.
- One month's notice is required to terminate the contract, and appointees must be available for emergency duty at the centre within 24 hours.
- Only the consolidated pay fixed for the post is admissible.
- The District Ayush Committee may postpone or cancel the recruitment at any stage, and may consider staff who resigned mid-term in future recruitments.
