The ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI), one of the leading research institutes under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), located in Kochi, Kerala, invites applications from eligible candidates for the post of Young Professional-I (YP-I) under the All India Network Project on Ornamental Fish Breeding and Culture (AINP-OFBC). This is a contractual position with a tenure of one year, extendable based on project requirements and performance.

Eligibility & Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

• B.F.Sc (Bachelor of Fisheries Science) or B.Sc in Zoology from a recognized university.

Desirable Qualifications (Preferred but not mandatory):

• Experience in ornamental fish breeding and culture operations.
• Published research papers or technical reports in relevant fields.
• Proficiency in computer skills including MS Office and data analysis tools.
• Swimming ability (preferred given the nature of field work at a marine research institute).

Salary & Benefits

The selected candidate will receive a consolidated monthly remuneration of Rs. 30,000/- per month without any additional allowances. The position is purely contractual and does not confer any claim for regular appointment at CMFRI or ICAR.

Age Limit

The minimum age limit is 21 years and the maximum age limit is 45 years as on the last date of application. Age relaxation is applicable as per Government of India / ICAR norms for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates.

Project Details

The Young Professional will work under the All India Network Project on Ornamental Fish Breeding and Culture (AINP-OFBC) at CMFRI, Kochi. The project focuses on the development and promotion of ornamental fisheries including captive breeding of ornamental fish species, seed production technology, and popularization of ornamental fish culture among fish farmers across India.
