Charles University Faculty Recruitment 2026: Assistant / Assistant Professor in Criminology

The Faculty of Law, Charles University, Prague, has announced an open hiring procedure for a 0.25 FTE academic position at the Department of Criminal Law (Criminology). Applications are invited for appointment at the level of Assistant or Assistant Professor.

Eligibility and Requirements

Applicants should possess:

• Master’s degree in Law and Jurisprudence

• Ability to contribute to teaching in the Master’s degree programme

• Willingness to assist with the administration of criminology courses

• Potential for independent research and publication in the field of criminology

• Ability to publish in Czech and international peer-reviewed journals

• Czech language proficiency at C1 level

• Good organisational skills are considered an advantage

• Knowledge of English and another major foreign language is an advantage

Employment Conditions

The appointment will be for a fixed term covering a period of replacement during maternity leave, parental leave and annual leave.

Remuneration will be determined according to the Internal Wages Regulation of Charles University.
