- Degree in Law from a reputed institution/university
- At least 15 years post-qualification experience in the power sector, judicial body or regulatory/quasi-judicial body dealing with legal matters
- Excellent drafting, communication and analytical skills; proficiency in computers including MS Office
- Age not more than 62 years; engagement up to a maximum of six years and not beyond 65 years of age

Central Electricity Regulatory Commission Job Details & Overview
CERC invites applications for engagement of one Individual Consultant at the level of Senior Advisor (Law) in its Legal Division
- Consolidated fee of Rs.2,50,000 per month (excluding GST); contract initially for one year, extendable by three years on satisfactory performance and thereafter up to a total of six years
- Essential: degree in Law from a reputed institution/university and at least 15 years of post-qualification experience in the power sector, a judicial body or a regulatory/quasi-judicial body dealing with legal matters
- Desirable: in-depth understanding of the electricity regulatory framework including the Tariff Regulations and the adjudicatory mechanism, knowledge of relevant Indian legislation, the National Electricity Policy and Tariff Policy, and experience of drafting inputs for orders and regulations
- Age limit: not more than 62 years for appointment, and no consultant is retained in the Commission after attaining 65 years
