The Office of the Principal Chief Commissioner of CGST & Central Excise, Lucknow Zone invites applications from meritorious sportspersons for recruitment under the Sports Quota in the following grades, in the 65 sports disciplines listed in Para A IV of DoPT Office Memorandum No. DOPT-1720781414772 dated 04.03.2024. Notification published 21.10.2026.
- Tax Assistant — 03 vacancies — Pay Level 4, Rs 25,500 – 81,100
- Havaldar — 14 vacancies — Pay Level 1, Rs 18,000 – 56,900
- Total — 17 vacancies
- Mode of application: offline, by post or by hand
- Last date: 23.11.2026 up to 17:00 hrs. Candidates domiciled in the North Eastern States, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh get 10 additional days
Sports Eligibility
A candidate must have represented any of the following, in any of the games/sports mentioned in the DoPT memorandum:
- A State or the country in a National or International competition; or
- Medal winners in Junior National Championships; or medal winners in Khelo India Youth Games (age category above 18 years), Khelo India Winter Games, Khelo India Para Games or Khelo India University Games; or medal winners in the School Games Federation of India (SGFI); or
- Their University in Inter-University Tournaments conducted by the Inter-University Sports Boards; or
- The State School Team in National Sports/Games for schools conducted by the All India School Games Federation
For Chess: Grand Master (GM) title, International Master (IM) title or Chess Olympiad. The IM/GM title must be in the Open category such as Woman Grandmaster (WGM). The National Open Chess Championship is treated as a National Championship, and medal-winning performances in the National Team Chess Championship are also considered.
