Eligibility
- CA (Inter) / ICWA (Inter) / CMA (Inter), or full-time M.Com. (or an equivalent qualification in Finance/Accounting).
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in accounting, sponsored research grants, government-funded projects, PFMS, project finance or a similar environment.
- Should not be above 38 years of age as on 1 October 2026.
- Desirable: experience in an educational/research institution or an organisation handling government-sponsored projects.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reconciliation; working knowledge of PFMS, ERP and project/grant accounting; proficiency in MS Excel and financial reporting.

BITS Pilani invites applications for one Junior Officer – Accounts (GCIR) position at the Pilani Campus. The appointment is on consolidated pay for an initial term of three years, renewable based on a satisfactory performance review against the goals set. The incumbent reports to the Associate Dean (GCIR) and the Head, Accounts & Finance.

Key Responsibilities
- End-to-end Public Financial Management System (PFMS) activities for sponsored research grants, including accurate recording of receipts and expenditure against the correct project, budget head and sanctioned component.
- Verifying expenditure submitted by Principal Investigators against sanction letters, approved budgets and grant conditions, and coordinating rectification of discrepancies.
- Project-wise reconciliation of expenditure in the books of accounts with PFMS and ERP records, and identification of excess or short utilisation requiring recovery or adjustment.
- Preparing bank reconciliation statements for Zero Balance Subsidiary Account (ZBSA) bank accounts and resolving unreconciled items.
- Assisting PIs in preparing Utilisation Certificates (UCs) and Statements of Expenditure (SEs) in funding-agency formats.
- Maintaining project-wise records of sanction letters, fund releases, receipts, PFMS and ERP expenditure, UCs and reconciliation statements.
- Supporting internal, statutory and funding-agency audits and timely closure of audit observations.
