Key Responsibilities
- Reside on campus and remain accessible to students for counselling and emotional support, particularly during late hours, with willingness to work night shifts (9:00 PM–9:00 AM).
- Provide counselling and psychological support to students experiencing emotional or psychological distress, and maintain a visible presence in hostels and common areas.
- Serve as the initial point of contact, build rapport with diverse student groups, promote help-seeking behaviour and identify students requiring additional support.
- Communicate with students in their preferred regional languages to improve accessibility and comfort.
- Coordinate with campus psychologists, the Medical Centre team, the Wellness Team, the psychiatrist and institutional authorities to ensure continuity of care.
- Assist in planning and implementing wellness programmes, workshops and mental health awareness campaigns.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of counselling sessions, referrals and follow-ups, and submit periodic reports.
- Provide initial psychological support in mental health emergencies and remain on call as part of the crisis response protocol.
