Bilaspur District Court Recruitment 2026 (Shorthand Writer, Assistant & Driver)

Office of the Principal District & Sessions Judge, Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh) invites applications for direct recruitment to the posts of Shorthand Writer Grade-3 (Hindi), Assistant Grade-3 and Vehicle Driver. Advertisement No: 41.5/do-11-3/2024, dated 22.07.2026.

Vacancy Details

Reservation for SC/ST/OBC categories applicable only to local residents of Chhattisgarh. Applications from reserved categories of other states (incl. MP) will be considered under unreserved.

Educational Qualification

Shorthand Writer Grade-3 (Hindi)

• Graduation from a recognized university.
• Hindi Shorthand and Typing examination passed from a recognized Shorthand & Typing Board.
• Knowledge of Hindi typing on computer and computer applications.
• Knowledge of Chhattisgarhi (local dialect) expected.

Assistant Grade-3 (General Cadre)

• Graduation from a recognized university.
• One year Computer Diploma from a recognized Board/University.
• Knowledge of Hindi and English typing on computer.
• Knowledge of Chhattisgarhi (local dialect) expected.

Vehicle Driver

• Class 8th pass from a recognized Board/Institution of any State Government.
• Valid Transport/Commercial vehicle driving licence with experience of driving all types of vehicles (preference to vehicle mechanics).
• Must be physically fit; knowledge of Chhattisgarhi (local dialect) expected.

Age Limit (as on 01.01.2026)

Minimum 18 years and maximum 30 years. For Chhattisgarh local residents, upper age limit is 40 years.

In no circumstance shall maximum age exceed 45 years even after all relaxations.

Selection Process

Phase 1 – Written Test (50 marks, 1 hour)

• 50 objective questions of 1 mark each covering General Mental Aptitude, General Knowledge, Current Affairs & Computer.
• No negative marking. Preliminary marks not added to skill test marks.
• Candidates called for Skill Test in 1:10 ratio (all equal marks at cut-off called).

Phase 2 – Skill Test

Shorthand Writer Grade-3 (Total 100 marks):

• Dictation (250 words @ 100 wpm, 2 min 30 sec) – 50 marks
• Hindi Computer Typing (250 words, 10 min) – 50 marks (Ubuntu/Linux, Unicode)
• 0.5 mark deducted per word error.

Assistant Grade-3 (Total 100 marks):

• Hindi Computer Typing (250 words, 10 min) – 50 marks
• English Computer Typing (250 words, 10 min) – 50 marks (Ubuntu/Linux, Unicode)
• 0.5 mark deducted per word error.

Vehicle Driver: 50-mark Skill Test/Interview assessing physical fitness, intellectual capacity, obedience, work efficiency and experience.

2. Submit the completed application in a sealed envelope (mentioning the applied post name clearly) with self-attested documents.
3. Deposit in the drop box kept at the Office of the Principal District & Sessions Judge, Bilaspur.
4. Application window: 23.07.2026 (10:30 AM) to 12.08.2026 (5:00 PM).
5. Applications through post, registered post, speed post, email, fax, courier or any other mode will not be considered.
