BHU Gastroenterology Project Research Scientist-II Recruitment 2026 - ICMR Intestinal TB vs Crohn's Disease Study

The Department of Gastroenterology, Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University invites applications for one post of Project Research Scientist-II (Non-Medical) in the ICMR-supported research project "Evaluation of Macrophage Polarization in Intestinal Tissue and T-cell Immune Profiling for Differentiation of Intestinal Tuberculosis and Crohn's Disease: An Immunological study" (P14/0827).

• Emoluments: Rs.67,000 per month + HRA as admissible
• Age: up to 40 years (OBC 3 years, SC/ST/PwD/female 5 years relaxation)
• Duration: purely temporary, maximum three years, co-terminus with the project

Project & Department

Principal Investigator: Dr. Dawesh Prakash Yadav, Associate Professor, Department of Gastroenterology, IMS, BHU, Varanasi - 221005 (e-mail [email protected], mobile 8130856563). The study profiles macrophage polarisation in intestinal tissue and T-cell immune responses to differentiate intestinal tuberculosis from Crohn's disease.

Eligibility & Qualifications

Essential: First-class M.Sc. / M.Tech. / M.E. in Life Sciences / Biotechnology / Bio-Medical Sciences / Biochemistry / Microbiology / Cell and Molecular Biology or related fields with three years research experience, OR a Ph.D. in a relevant subject.

Desirable: experience in handling human blood and tissue samples, immunohistochemistry/immunofluorescence, flow cytometry, histopathology, IBD research and molecular biology laboratory techniques, statistical analysis of clinical and immunological data, clinical research documentation, and good data analysis and scientific writing skills.

Emoluments

Rs.67,000 per month plus HRA as admissible. The post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project; project duration is a maximum of three years.
