The Department of Chemistry, Institute of Science, Banaras Hindu University invites applications for one Postdoctoral Fellow (PDF) in the ICMR-funded project P-14/0830 entitled "Synthesis and Screening of Novel Class of Metabolites-based Triazole Analogues for the Treatment of Hepatic Fibrosis" (file no. Project & Department
Principal Investigator: Dr. Arunava Manna, Department of Chemistry, Institute of Science, BHU, Varanasi (e-mail [email protected], phone 8170952887). The project involves design and synthesis of metabolite-based triazole analogues and their screening for anti-fibrotic activity.
Eligibility & Qualifications
Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from an Indian university/institute with NIRF ranking up to 20, or from a foreign university, with a proven record of at least two publications in Q1 or Q2 journals in the relevant area. Desirable: Ph.D. in organic synthesis, good synthetic skills, knowledge of characterisation techniques for organic molecules and good communication skills. Experience in heterocyclic chemistry and multi-step organic synthesis will be preferred.
Emoluments
Consolidated fellowship of Rs.56,000 per month plus HRA at 20% (Rs.11,200 per month), totalling Rs.67,200 per month, with a 5% increment on the initial emoluments after every two years. The post is purely temporary.
