BHU Junior Research Fellow (Geology) Recruitment 2026 - ANRF Project

The Department of Geology, Institute of Science, Banaras Hindu University invites applications for one post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the ANRF-funded Advanced Research Grant project "Indian Ocean paleothermometry and monsoon evolution using foraminiferal trace element and isotopic proxies" (BHU project code P-07/1382), sanctioned for 60 months. Principal Investigator: Dr. Dinesh Kumar Naik, Assistant Professor, Department of Geology, Institute of Science, BHU, Varanasi - 221005 (e-mail [email protected]). The work involves foraminiferal trace-element and isotope geochemistry for Indian Ocean palaeothermometry and monsoon reconstruction.

Eligibility & Qualifications

M.Sc. in Geology with at least 55% aggregate marks or an equivalent grade, and must have qualified NET or GATE. Candidates with research experience relevant to palaeoclimate, foraminifera or isotope geochemistry will be preferred.

Emoluments

Fellowship of Rs.37,000 per month plus HRA as admissible under university rules. The appointment is temporary and co-terminus with the project; no other allowances are mentioned in the advertisement.
