BHU CEMS Project Research Scientist-II Recruitment 2026 - ICMR PKDL Project

The Centre of Experimental Medicine & Surgery (CEMS), Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University invites applications for one post of Project Research Scientist-II (Non-Medical) under the ICMR-funded project "Optimizing molecular diagnosis and treatment monitoring in Post Kala-azar Dermal Leishmaniasis" (Project Code P-14/0824), sanctioned under Dr. Rajiv Kumar, CEMS, IMS, BHU.

Project & Department

Project title: Optimizing molecular diagnosis and treatment monitoring in Post Kala-azar Dermal Leishmaniasis. The work involves leishmania research and molecular biology, with extensive travel and possible stay at the Kala-azar Medical Research Centre (field site), Muzaffarpur District, Bihar, as per project requirement.

Eligibility & Qualifications

Essential (any one): (1) First class postgraduate degree in Applied Microbiology / Biochemistry / Biotechnology / Botany / Life Sciences / Microbiology / Zoology, including integrated PG degrees, with three years experience; or Ph.D. in the above-mentioned subject. (2) Second class postgraduate degree in the above subjects, including integrated PG degrees, with Ph.D. and three years experience.

Desirable: prior experience in leishmania research or molecular biology work will be given priority.

Emoluments

Rs.67,000 per month plus HRA as admissible. Age relaxation up to five years may be granted to deserving candidates with experience of working in government research organisations/projects.
