Bharathiar University - Director, DIA-CoE Recruitment 2026
Bharathiar University, Coimbatore invites applications for the post of Director, DRDO Industry Academia Centre of Excellence (DIA-CoE, BU) on a full-time contract basis. The centre has been set up through an MoU with DRDO for directed research in advanced technology domains.
About DIA-CoE BU
The centre facilitates multidisciplinary directed applied research in: Biosensors and Counter Measure Evaluations (BSCM), Environmental Toxicity Management (ETM), Respiratory Support for Extreme Environment (RSEE) and Natural Polymers and Fibres for Defence Application (NPF).
About the Post
The Director is the administrative and executive head of the centre, responsible for strategic guidance, overall management, long-term research & technology roadmaps, project execution, industrial collaborations and technology translation aligned with DRDO's future technology requirements.
Remuneration
| Retired Govt employee (OPS) | Last drawn salary - basic pension (as per DoE OM dated 09.12.2020) |
| Retired Govt employee (NPS) | Last basic pay - 30% of last basic pay (as per DoE OM dated 18.10.2023) |
| Non-Govt employee | Rs. 1,75,000 - 2,00,000 based on experience |
Eligibility
- Essential: Doctoral/Master's Degree in Engineering, Technology or Science from a recognized University or equivalent with 25 years of experience in technology/defence (technical) domains.
- Desirable: Experience in collaborative projects, large research facilities, strategic research planning, technology transfer, defence domain research, publications & patents, academic and industry-oriented research.
- Age: Below 62 years as on closing date of applications.
Duration
Full-time contract for an initial period of 3 years, extendable by 2 additional years subject to performance review. Discontinuable by either side with 3 months notice.
