Assam Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Department VFA Recruitment 2026
The Directorate of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary, Assam has invited online applications from Indian Citizens for filling up of 200 (Two hundred) posts of Veterinary Field Assistant (VFA) and its allied cadre posts (Notification No. E-543943/71 dated 26.08.2026). The vacancy will be filled up as per the Post Based Roster Register under the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department, Assam.

Scale of Pay
Pay Band-2 of Rs. 14,000/- to Rs. 70,000/- + Grade Pay of Rs. 6,200/- plus other allowances as admissible from time to time.
Age Limit (as on 01/01/2026)
- Minimum: 18 years, Maximum: 40 years
- Upper age relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC/MOBC, 10 years for PwBD and 2 years for Ex-Servicemen
- Age calculated on the basis of HSLC Pass Certificate / Admit Card / Certificate issued by a recognized Board/Council
Educational Qualification
Candidate shall have to pass the full-time HSSLC (Class 12) examination in Science stream with Biology as one of the subjects from a recognized Board/Council/University.
Eligibility Criteria
Must be an Indian Citizen as defined under Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India and a permanent resident of the State of Assam. Valid Permanent Resident Certificate issued in Assam (for educational purposes) must be uploaded as proof of domicile.
Selection Process
OMR based written test of 120 minutes duration for 100 marks against 100 questions of Class 12 standard:

Mandatory Training
Selected candidates shall have to undergo a 1 (one) Year Training in Elementary Knowledge of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science at the School of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Assam, Ghungoor, Silchar and its extended campuses, and shall have to pass the training mandatorily before appointment.
