Overview
The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC), Vijayawada has released two Brief Notifications – No. 25/2026 and No. 26/2026, both dated 15 September 2026 – for direct recruitment to a total of 90 provisional posts of Assistant Social Welfare Officer, Assistant Tribal Welfare Officer and Hostel Welfare Officer Grade-II in the Social Welfare, Tribal Welfare and Backward Classes Welfare departments. A Detailed Notification (vacancy breakup, age, reservation, full qualifications) will follow on or before 9 October 2026. Applications must be submitted online only at psc.ap.gov.in from 9 October to 29 October 2026 (11:59 PM).

- Assistant Social / Tribal Welfare Officer: Bachelor's Degree of any recognised University in India (Central / State / Provincial Act) or UGC-recognised institution, or equivalent – as on the date of the Detailed Notification.
- Hostel Welfare Officer Grade-II: Educational qualification not specified in the Brief Notification; will be published in the Detailed Notification.
- Age Limit: Not specified in the Brief Notifications; will be published with community-wise reservation in the Detailed Notification. The Detailed Notification date is the crucial date for all eligibility.

Selection Process
Single-level online Computer-Based Recruitment Test (CBRT) only – no Screening Test, irrespective of the number of applicants. Normalisation applies if held in multiple sessions. 1/3rd negative marking per wrong answer.
- ASWO / ATWO: Paper-I General Studies & Mental Ability (150 Q / 150 marks) + Paper-II Subject (150 / 150) + Paper-III Subject (150 / 150) = 450 marks.
- HWO Grade-II: Paper-I General Studies & Mental Ability (150 / 150) + Paper-II Subject – Education (150 / 150) = 300 marks.
