Govt. of NCT of Delhi – Ambedkar Nagar Hospital, Block-B, Sector-5, Dakshinpuri, New Delhi-110062. Notice No. -20/SR/ANH/2026, F.No.F.2(67)/SR-Interview/Admn/ANH/2023/Pt-I/7190-7195 dated 24/10/2026. Walk-in interview for recruitment on an emergent AD-HOC basis against vacant posts of Senior Resident.

Vacancy

The number of vacant or likely to fall vacant posts can change without prior notice and is subject to actual availability at the time of interview.

Eligibility

1. MBBS with PG Degree / Diploma or any other equivalent qualification in the concerned specialty recognized by the Medical Council of India.
2. Registered with the Delhi Medical Council (only qualification incorporated in DMC will be considered) and must not have completed three years of Senior Residency.
3. Basic Pay in Level-11 as per the 7th Pay Commission.
4. Age limit 45 years as on the date of interview.

Persons with disabilities (Divyangjan) — relaxation is admissible as per Govt. of India rules upon submission of a Handicapped Certificate from the competent authority.

How to Attend

• Report to the Admin Office, 4th Floor, Ambedkar Nagar Hospital on any of the walk-in dates between 09:30 and 11:00 AM.
• Bring all original certificates and testimonials.
• Also submit self-attested copies of all documents along with one passport size photograph.

Terms and Conditions

• Tenure: initial appointment is for 89/44 days, extendable for a further 89/44 days by giving a one day break, after receiving a written request from the concerned doctor duly recommended and forwarded by the HOD/MO I/c, or till regular incumbents join, whichever is earlier. The maximum tenure of the Senior Resident post is 03 years, including previous tenure served in any Govt. Hospital/Institute/Organization.
• Past experience: service rendered as a Senior Resident in Govt. Hospitals/Autonomous Bodies founded by the Govt. prior to this appointment will count while reckoning the tenure; an undertaking to this effect must be furnished with the acceptance letter along with documentary proof.
• Ad-hoc appointment is for 89 days; the appointee will not stake or claim over the post, and whenever a regular appointee joins, their services will be terminated without any notice.
• Candidates already working in another organization/hospital must submit a relieving order from the concerned organization/hospital before joining. Without the relevant documents, no acceptance/joining will be allowed under any circumstances.
• Appointment of SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates is subject to verification of the Caste Certificate issued by the competent issuing authority. If a claim is found false, services will be terminated forthwith and action may be taken under the Indian Penal Code.
• OBC candidates must possess an OBC certificate issued for the Govt. of NCT of Delhi only, must not fall in the creamy layer, and must submit a copy of the Non-Creamy Layer certificate of the current financial year.
• In case of non-availability of suitable candidates under the SC/ST/OBC/EWS category, vacancies may be filled from General Category candidates for 44 days on an ad-hoc basis (or till a regular candidate joins in the respective category, whichever is earlier).
• Registration: the candidate must have a valid DMC registration certificate, or must have applied for DMC on or before the date of interview.
• Medical examination: self-declaration of medical fitness by the candidate at the time of joining.
• Private practice of any kind is strictly prohibited, and the candidate will not work simultaneously as SR in any other hospital. Breach will result in termination and proceedings with the DMC for cancellation of the registration certificate.
• Leave: 2½ days paid leave per month of service rendered. Unauthorized/willful absence for more than 7 days will result in termination without assigning any reason, and no salary is payable for unauthorized absence.
• Resignation/Termination: 07 days’ prior notice is required for resignation, otherwise seven days’ salary must be deposited in lieu. If further extension is not required, this must be informed seven days before the last day of tenure (the 89th day), otherwise seven days’ salary may be deposited in lieu. The hospital may terminate services with 07 days’ notice.
• Appointment is further subject to a self-declaration of medical fitness, submission of attested copies of all certificates and an oath of allegiance to the Constitution of India, and verification of character and antecedents by the District Magistrate of the State/City where the candidate has resided for the last five years.
• All selected candidates must attend compulsory training on Bio-Medical Waste Management; for venue and schedule, contact MO I/c Bio-Medical Waste Management, Ambedkar Nagar Hospital.
• Senior Residents working in any specialty/department may be required to perform duties in the Accident & Emergency Department as per the requirements of patient care.
• The candidate will work under the Residency Scheme applicable from time to time. Wearing a white coat with a name badge on duty is required, and smoking on duty or while examining patients is prohibited.
• If any declaration or information furnished is found to be false, or any material fact wilfully suppressed, the candidate is liable to be removed from service and such other action as the Govt. may deem necessary.

Relaxation where no Fresh Candidates are Available

In case of non-availability of candidates, as per the relevant scheme and circular No. F.No.121/26/2010/H&FW/1996-2045 dated 10.06.2011 issued by the Health and Family Welfare Department, Govt. of NCT of Delhi, the following relaxation applies:

1. In case of non-availability of fresh candidates, candidates who have completed 3 years of Senior Residency may also be allowed, under relaxed norms, to appear in the interview.
2. A separate merit list would be prepared for candidates who have completed their residency of 3 years as SR.
3. Firstly, the list containing names of fresh candidates would be exhausted for appointment as Residents; the list of candidates appearing under relaxed norms would be used only after that.
4. All Residents appointments from the second list will be for one year only and will not be renewable after one year.
