Andaman & Nicobar Coastal Zone Management Authority (A&NCZMA), under the Department of Environment & Forests, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, invites applications from eligible and interested candidates for engagement of Consultant on a purely contractual basis for the financial year 2026-27 for scrutinizing Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) reports and other documents related to CRZ project proposals.

Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification: Bachelor Degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, Marine Biology, Ocean Studies or equivalent from a recognized University.
• Experience: Relevant work experience in environmental studies, impact assessments, ecology, marine biology, risk analysis or environmental management.
• Computer Skills: Working knowledge of MS Office etc.
• Age Limit: Not more than 50 years.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Scrutinizing of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) reports and other documents related to Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) project proposals.
2. Ensure the report provides a detailed assessment of terrestrial and marine ecosystems.
3. Ensure that the Disaster and Risk Assessment Study is included in the report; examine site-specific vulnerabilities and potential hazards.
4. Review the Management Plan to ensure it adequately addresses identified environmental risks.
5. Assess anticipated environmental impacts of the proposed project.
6. Verify that the report is scientifically robust, technically sound and adheres to regulatory guidelines.
7. Any other related work assigned by the superior officers from time to time.

Selection Procedure

Selection will be carried out through a weightage-based evaluation system (Total: 100 Marks) followed by an interview.

Note: Candidates will be shortlisted strictly based on marks obtained under criteria Sl. No. 01 to 04. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview.

General Terms & Conditions

• Engagement is purely temporary and contractual, initially for the financial year 2026-27, extendable based on performance and requirement.
• Remuneration is consolidated and inclusive of all allowances, with no additional benefits such as DA, HRA etc.
• The selected candidates will have no claim for regular appointment under Government service.
• No TA/DA will be admissible for the selection process.
• APCCF (CRZ&FC)/Member Secretary, A&NCZMA reserves the right to accept or reject any application without assigning reasons.
