AMU Recruitment 2026: Guest Teacher in History

The Centre of Advanced Study, Department of History, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), invites applications from eligible Indian nationals, including Overseas Citizens of India, for the position of Guest Teacher for the academic session 2026–27.

Essential Qualification

Candidates should possess:

• A Master’s degree in History with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade from an Indian university or an accredited foreign university.

• NET in History conducted by UGC or CSIR, or an equivalent examination such as SLET/SET.

Candidates holding a PhD awarded in accordance with applicable UGC regulations may be exempted from the NET/SLET/SET requirement, subject to the conditions mentioned in the official advertisement.

Honorarium

The selected candidate will receive:

• ₹1,500 per lecture

• Maximum honorarium of ₹50,000 per month

Duration of Appointment

The appointment will be made for the academic session 2026–27. It may end earlier if a General Selection Committee is held or according to the university’s requirements.
