Akashvani Jalandhar Part-Time Correspondents (PTC) 2026
Advertisement No. RNU/PTC-Punjab-(10Distts.)(1)/2026-27 dated 17.09.2026 (Head of Office, Akashvani Jalandhar).
Akashvani Jalandhar (Prasar Bharati, India public service broadcaster) invites applications for engagement of Part-Time Correspondents (PTCs) on contractual basis for the Regional News Unit covering 10 Punjab districts: Jalandhar, Sangrur, Malerkotla, Ferozepur, Faridkot, Bathinda, Moga, Mansa, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar and Barnala (one correspondent per district).
Eligibility
- Qualification: PG Diploma/Degree in Journalism/Mass Media, OR Graduate in any stream with minimum 2 years journalism experience.
- Age: 24–50 years (as on the last date).
- Domicile: Must reside at the concerned district headquarters or within 10 km of the municipal limits.
- Skills: Computer and news-writing knowledge; must own news-gathering/recording equipment. Electronic-media coverage experience desirable.
- Bar: Persons in government service/PSU employment and members of any political party are not considered.
Honorarium & Tenure
Monthly honorarium per NSD circular No. RNU/PTC Guidelines/Modification/2022/1152 dated 28.08.2024, up to a maximum of Rs.9,250/- per month (including transport and communication), on certification of satisfactory service by RNU Head, Akashvani Jalandhar. Initial 3-month monthly-renewal probation; extendable yearly till age 60 on satisfactory performance.
Selection Process
Interview only — on qualification, prior experience, knowledge of district/state, current affairs, welfare schemes, familiarity with radio news, journalistic skill, writing and communication-technology awareness.
