AIIMS Rajkot – VRDL Laboratory Technician & Multi-tasking Staff

All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Rajkot invites applications from eligible candidates for project posts on a contract basis in an extramural research project funded by an external agency. Reference No. AIIMS/RAJKOT/VRDL/2026/299 dated 26th October 2026.

Posts

Age Relaxation

• SC/ST candidates: up to 5 years.
• OBC candidates: up to 3 years.
• PwBD candidates: up to 10 years (General), 13 years (OBC) and 15 years (SC/ST).

Essential Qualifications and Experience

Laboratory Technician

• Essential: B.Sc. / Intermediate with diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology, or High School with 5 years laboratory experience.
• Desirable: preference to candidates with 5 years of experience in Microbiology work; knowledge of computer application or business intelligence tools/data management; training in virology or molecular techniques will be preferred.

Multi-tasking Staff

• Essential: High School / Matric / equivalent from a recognised board.
• Desirable: preference to those having previous work experience in a molecular lab set-up; basic knowledge of computers.

Application Process

• Original documents and the application must be produced for verification at the time of the written test/interview.
• A separate application must be submitted for each post if applying for more than one.

Documents to be Attached (self-attested)

1. Date of birth proof.
2. Photo ID proof (PAN, Aadhaar, Voter ID, Driving Licence, etc.) with date of birth.
3. Educational qualification – 10th / 12th / Graduate / DMLT / MLT / PG degree / diploma certificate as applicable.
4. Mark sheets of the respective educational qualifications.
5. PhD certificate, if applicable.
6. Registration certificate, if applicable.
7. Experience certificates, if applicable.
8. Research publications, if applicable.
9. NOC certificate from the present employer.
10. Any other relevant document.

Selection Process

• Applications will be scrutinised by the screening committee.
• The interview shall be conducted for up to six candidates per available post who secure the highest marks in the MCQ-based written test.
• Relative weightage: written examination 80% and interview 20% for determining the final merit.
• Selection is based purely on merit.

Terms and Conditions (highlights)

• The positions are purely on a contract basis for an externally funded research project; the person engaged has no claim to any regular post in AIIMS Rajkot or continuation of service in the same or any other project.
• The number of posts may be increased or decreased as per the funding agency's directions.
• The crucial date for determining eligibility (age/educational qualification/experience) is the last date of submission of application.
• Persons working in Government / Public Sector Undertakings or any other research project at AIIMS Rajkot must produce a No Objection Certificate at the time of interview.
• No request for change of interview date will be entertained. No TA/DA will be paid.
• HRA, if admissible as per the funding agency's guidelines, is payable for the classification of Rajkot city (Class 'Y').
• No hostel or other accommodation will be provided by the Institute.
