AIIMS Raipur – Project Technical Support-I, TB-RAP Study (Microbiology)

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Raipur, Department of Microbiology, invites applications for the post of Project Technical Support-I under the research project “Performance evaluation of a rapid, non-invasive, saliva and sputum-based diagnostic platform ‘TB-RAP’ for the detection of active pulmonary tuberculosis”, funded by IIT DRISHTI CPS, purely on a contractual basis.

Essential Educational Qualification

• 10th in Science + Diploma (MLT/DMLT) + Two years’ experience in Microbiology laboratory / Tuberculosis Laboratory / relevant subject or field;
  OR
• Three years Graduate degree in relevant subject/field + two years’ experience in Microbiology laboratory / Tuberculosis Laboratory / relevant subject or field.

Note: Distance educational qualification will not be considered.

Desirable Experience

• Collection, transport and handling of all kinds of clinical samples including sputum and saliva.
• Hands-on experience with handling of GeneXpert / CBNAAT / TruNat / any PCR / RT-PCR instrument.
• Hands-on experience in sample processing for TB diagnosis by smear microscopy, culture in MGIT, GeneXpert and LPA.
• Maintenance of stocks and basic biosafety practices, accurate pipetting, preparation of media, autoclaving, routine equipment operation, maintenance of detailed lab notebooks and reagent logs, basic data entry and analysis.
• Data entry in software, on tablet/desktop/laptop interface.

Job Responsibilities

• Sample collection from suspected TB patients, especially sputum and saliva.
• Transport, handling and storage of samples.
• Clinical data collection and entry into CRF, software, and maintenance in registers.
• Assistance in other laboratory related work in the TB Laboratory.
• Completion of any work assigned by the PI and Co-PI to ensure smooth functioning of the project.
• Handling project-related documents.

• One recent self-signed passport-sized colour photograph is to be pasted on the assigned place on the first page of the application format.

Documents to be Enclosed

1. SSC or 10th class marks card/certificate (for proof of date of birth).
2. All certificates to support the academic qualifications, starting from a bachelor’s degree as applicable.
3. Work experience certificates.
4. Research experience certificates.
5. Higher qualification than prescribed, if any.
6. Two recent passport-sized photographs (one pasted on the form, one pinned).
7. Identity proof in the form of AADHAAR Card.
8. NOC if presently working with any government organisation.

Selection Procedure

• Applications received will be scrutinised by the selection committee. Recruitment will be made through interview.
• A written screening test will be conducted if the number of eligible candidates is more than 30 per post; the top 10 candidates scoring the highest marks in the written test will then be interviewed.
• The list of eligible candidates and the date and time of the interview will be displayed on the Institute website. No separate personalised communication will be sent.
• Candidates should bring the duly filled application form and all original certificates of educational qualifications, experience certificates, identity proof, two photographs and a set of self-attested photocopies at the time of the interview.

Terms and Conditions

• The selection will not be an employment on the AIIMS Raipur pay-roll. Employment will automatically terminate upon completion of the designated tenure from the day of joining, and there is no liability for permanent employment on AIIMS Raipur or on the Principal Investigator. Candidates have no right to claim permanent employment based on this job.
