All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Kalyani, a Statutory Body under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, invites applications for project staff on purely temporary and contractual basis under the Viral Research & Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL), Department of Microbiology (Advertisement No: AIIMSK/MICRO/VRDL/E 1250, dated 05/09/2026).

Vacancy Details

Essential Qualifications

1. Scientist B (Medical)

• Essential: MBBS from a recognized University/Institution
• Desirable: MD/DNB/DM/MDS in related subject from UGC-recognized University; Ph.D. in related subject from UGC-recognized Institute; postdoctoral research/training experience; experience in virology/molecular diagnostics laboratory work, NABL accreditation, computer applications; research experience after essential qualification
• Note: MD/DNB/DM/MDS degree in relevant subjects treated equivalent to 3 years experience and given priority

2. Laboratory Technician

• Essential: 10+2 (Science) with DMLT/MLT OR B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology/Life Sciences
• Desirable: Relevant laboratory experience in sample processing, serology/PCR/RT-PCR and molecular diagnostics; Experience in Virology Laboratory, clinical or research laboratory Microbiology; Knowledge of computer applications and infectious disease/virology laboratory work

Terms & Conditions

• Tenure: Purely contractual for 6 months (extendable based on performance and project requirement up to termination of the project)
• Contract automatically expires upon completion of tenure or withdrawal of funding
• Appointment terminable by either side with 30 days notice or salary in lieu
• Leave entitlement per DHR VRDL Scheme leave policy
• No hostel/accommodation provided
• No TA/DA for interview
• No other allowances except consolidated salary
• All disputes subject to Kolkata jurisdiction
