Previous Year Papers — Banking

Banking exams such as IBPS PO, IBPS Clerk, IBPS RRB, IBPS SO, SBI PO, SBI Clerk, RBI Grade B and RBI Assistant are among the most competitive recruitment tests in India, with lakhs of candidates competing for a few thousand posts each year. Solving previous year papers is the single most effective preparation tool: they reveal the exact exam pattern, section-wise difficulty, the balance of easy and tough questions, and the speed required to finish on time. Every banking exam carries negative marking — usually 0.25 marks for each wrong answer — so timed practice on real and official sample papers is essential to learn which questions to attempt and which to leave. Below are verified download sources: official portals are marked "Official", official sample papers are linked directly as PDFs where available, and third-party collections are labelled "(external)". All links were checked against official websites during research.

How to use previous year papers effectively

  • Attempt in exam conditions first. Sit for the full duration with a timer, no phone and no notes, so your speed and accuracy are measured honestly.
  • Analyse after every test. Record attempts, accuracy, time per section and mistakes; note the sections where negative marking is hurting you.
  • Practise section-wise after the full mock. Use the paper you just solved to drill the reasoning and quantitative questions you skipped.
  • Focus on speed in Reasoning and Quant. Banking cut-offs are decided by accuracy within a tight time limit — target 45-60 seconds per question in Prelims.
  • Use official sample papers for the newest pattern. Official mock tests and Acquaint Yourself booklets reflect the current pattern better than older papers.
  • Track your sectional growth. Aim to cross the previous year's sectional cut-off (published in result PDFs) in every mock you take.

FAQ — Banking Previous Year Papers

Where can I download official IBPS previous year papers?

IBPS does not publish solved previous year papers, but it provides an official mock/sample test for all CRP exams at www4.digialm.com, and each CRP page (PO, Clerk, RRB, SO) on ibps.in hosts notifications, call letters and results.

Does SBI release official previous year papers?

No. SBI instead publishes official Acquaint Yourself booklets — sample papers matching the real exam — which are hosted on sbi.co.in careers. Verified PDFs for SBI PO 2026 (English and Hindi) and SBI Apprentice 2026 are linked above.

Are the third-party paper links free?

Papers from third-party sites may be watermarked and vary in accuracy. Prefer the official links above (IBPS, SBI, RBI) for authoritative question papers.

How many previous year papers should I solve?

For each exam, solve at least 10-15 full-length tests: the available official sample tests, plus year-wise papers, spread over your final two months with one test every 3-4 days.

Do banking exams have negative marking?

Yes. IBPS, SBI and RBI exams deduct 0.25 marks for every wrong answer in objective sections. Unattempted questions carry no penalty, so strategic skipping is a core skill you must train using these papers.

Does RBI publish its previous year papers?

RBI does not publish full previous year papers. The official RBI recruitment portal hosts all Grade B and Assistant notifications, information kits, call letters and results — the verified source for pattern and vacancy details.
